RE: backing up with sway bar on

I seem to backup with it on all the time because I forget to take it off. I'm probably at backing with it on at 75% right now, no problems. I always get done and say "S**T not again!".

RE: Bought a coffee maker, but...........

I guess I'll just throw it away and get a small 120v maker. I already have a coleman coffee pot for the stove. Was just trying to have a small maker for the GF.

Bought a coffee maker, but...........

When I got home, thinking it was a 12V maker and had the 1/4" plug electric adapter, well I was wrong. It has a cigarette adapter type plug. Is there anyway I can use this on my popup somehow?

Yeah I took that road a few weeks ago when I was up there. It's a nice little hideaway.

I did it, I tore the popups material and did my first mod!

So here I am today, cleaning, repairing minors things and in general going over the popup after my last trip. One thing I had to fix was the curtains and the slide out after the curtain got caught in it.
To remove the curtain I had to remove the gray cap on the end of the slider towards the middle of the trailer. Well getting it back on is not so easy I found out since I can't get my fingers or anything behind the railing. So I get smart and unbolt the last wheel guide thinking I can hold the nut on through this hole, no dice. But when I put the wheel back on it appears I caught the green canvas material on the nut on the outside and didn't notice until I raised it today and it ripped a nice 1/2" x 1-1/2 hole in the green canvas material.
So I used two pieces of duct tape to fix it for now. Has anyone else ripped their material and if so how did you fix it?
Today I took out the mattress from the forward bunk. I then replaced it with some nice indoor outdoor carpeting from Lowe's that they mis-priced me on and I saved 30%! Now I can store my reclining chairs, sleeping bags and pillows on the front bunk. Thanks to Heruide for the mod! I also used some carpet tape, double sided. I don't think it really works too well. I'll check it out when I load for my trip next week.

RE: Heading to Lee Vining/Mono Lake, any advice?

I went to the bristlecone pine forest last trip, wasn't too impressed for the time I spent driving. The petroglyph's are a bit out of the way too. But I did just find the Hot Creek geothermal area that looks really cool! Devil's Postpile looks like a long drive, how long is it? Rainbow Falls from Red Meadow looks like a 1 mile hike?
Well tell this statement to my girlfriend. yes that's my philosophy too!
.
You can relax at home. Vacations are for exploring! Either way take care of your GF. I second the hike at Devils Postpile to Rainbow Falls and Reds Meadow cafe. Burgers are great after a hike.

RE: Heading to Lee Vining/Mono Lake, any advice?

Thanks for all the info everyone. I was up there two weeks ago for three days at Boulder Creek and enjoyed it. This is supposed to be a relaxing trip for my GF who just lost her mother, but with my ADHD and love of photography and sightseeing I can't sit still! She's not into driving all day, hence the three different stops.
I at at Schatt's last time I was there, we'll be stopping there twice for bread, sandwiches and pastries! I've heard good things about Whoa Nellie Deli. I'd go for the kayaking, but after my Zion NP adventure where I got swept down the river and destroyed my Canon 20D I'm staying away from water right now with my new 40D!
This is also her first time camping in the popup with me, every other trip Ive been solo, so it should be interesting to say the least! I know she's going to love Whitney Portal, Alabama Hills, etc from my photos she's seen.
Photos from Owens Valley July 4th weekend.

Heading to Lee Vining/Mono Lake, any advice?

Next weekend my GF and myself are heading up to Lone Pine (Boulder Creek RV Resort) for two days, then up to Lee Vining (Mono Vista RV Park) for three days, then back to Lone Pine for two nights befor heading home. Anyone have any advice for things to do in Lee Vining, places to go, food locations, neat things to see, etc?
We plan on hitting Mono Lake a lot, for some sunrise and sunset photography. I plan on taking her up to Tuolumne Meadows, she's never been to Yosemite before. There's also the June Lake Loop and Bodie. It's mostly a relaxing, geocaching, sightseeing, photographing, fishing trip! LOL

RE: questions about area around zion river resort

There's a hotel on the south side of town, on the east side of Hwy.9. I can't remember the name of it, but I'm sure someone can chime in. Anyways. It's a big complex, the restaurant is on the north end of the complex. On the east side of the restaurant is a sports grill. In the lobby is the only State liquor store east of St. George, unless you just want beer. But the restaurant there was really good!!! It's across from the Bit & Spur restaurant, here's a google map of the Unknown good restaurant in Springdale!

RE: Speed Limit 70 | Autos Towing Trailers 55

You are supposed to be going on a vacation where time doesn't matter. You get there safe and relax while you are there. Isn't that why you go camping?
Agh man, no one told me I was to relax on vacation! I seem more tense and crazy when I'm on vacation. When I go somewhere new it's like I have to see everything and relaxing is out the window!
Back to towing. When I was coming home from Lone Pine on Saturday someone in a TT just had to pass me on Death Highway 395. I was probably doing 65mph myself, but that wasn't good enough for him. More power too you buddy, that's why I'll always have a job as a firefighter!

Also broken.......circuit breaker cover

So the little lid that pops down where the circuit breaker and fuses are, well it flipped down and I stepped on it breaking it off. Anyone else do this and were you able to obtain a replacement? I have the Fleetwood Westlake.
Kind of frustrating that these thigns aren't made to stay is a closed position better than they are.

RE: My first mod!!

Jeff,
Can you tell us how he made the table? I see it's several 3/4" x 8? pieces glues together? How did he do this and be able to maintain is being flat and smooth> I'm a woodworker myself and it resemble a big cutting board, but something like that usually goes through a plainer. I'm interested in his techniques so I can do the same without wasting wood! Very nice!
